Jodie B is a live loop performer, multi-instrumentalist and producer, performing as both a solo artist and as a duo with her sister. Her original craft is a blend of hip-hop and electro-soul, inspired by FKJ, Atmosphere, Rufus Du Sol, NomBe and DubFx.
“I grew up singing and playing various maritime instruments in Newfoundland kitchen parties, so it’s integral to me that I create original material influenced by all avenues of my musical background” says Jodie B.
From busking on the streets at age 3 to performing at international music festivals, Jodie orchestrates through a purple bass, a Fender Tele. and a 6 key harmonica belt. Her sister Nique Blue performs with her mandolin, saxophone and guitar.
Jodie has performed at Monday Mag’s “Best Music Festival in North America” Shambhala Music Festival in 2015, 2017, 2018 , 2019 and 2022 and has opened for artists such as Kytami, DubFx, The Pharcyde and Methodman & Redman.
Jodie B has produced and co-produced for hip-hop legends including features from Q from Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Mayday!, Nino Bless and Slug from Atmosphere in 2020.
Jodie is establishing her career as a producer and as a new owner of Frequency Sound 528, a recording studio promoting safe spaces to create and collaborate in.
In 2021 Jodie B proudly joined the Danio Management family; home to artists including KLab, Slynk, Fort Knox Five, JPod, Father Funk, Featurecast and more.
